A word about prices: Some consider it inappropriate to mention prices but we believe in a completely up-front policy. Our prices will vary, depending on the dog, it's breeding and quality but, in general, prices for pets (to be neutered) run around $500 to $650 for males and $750 to $900 for females. Keep in mind that these are healthy dogs with testing done on parents for genetic problems. We give a full-refund health guarantee. If we offer show quality dogs, the prices are higher, running in a range of $1500 to $3,500 or more, depending on sex and quality. We don't give retired dogs away because we worry that a free dog might be conceived as having no value. However, they are priced for less. Also, in the current economic downturn, we will discuss lower prices.

We caution people to seek dogs from devoted breeders who are breeding ONLY for the quality and good of the breed. Show breeders are careful about the genetics and health of their dogs.
Many breeders feel that males make better pets. Male Papillons have a burning desire to be with you and to please you. A veteran Papillon breeder says: "Females like to be close to you and sit on your lap, but males want to unzip you and crawl inside. They want to be part of you." People worry about males marking in the house. However, a male neutered soon enough, will generally never have problems with it. It's difficult to obtain a dog and especially a female from a show breeder until they are usually around six months or older because we're waiting to see suitability for the show ring. Sometimes, we will let males go early because we need so few males compared to females. I should note that males are generally less expensive than females.
HOW TO FIND A REPUTABLE BREEDER Here is an excellent resource, taken from the Boston Terrier Club of America website. It's a bit of a long read, but there's some very useful information here to study if you are hunting for a new puppy.
Here is another good resource from the Veterinary site Drs. Foster and Smith. It discusses the cost of owning a dog.
